SURROUNDING AREAS
Surrounding Austin proper are many wonderful communities that create the Austin metroplex. To the south are the towns of Buda and Kyle, have an explosion of new construction that provides great housing options at a lower cost than those found in other areas. To the west, areas such as Dripping Springs and Driftwoood have a quiet, hill country lifestyle.
High tech companies have lead the way for much of the growth in the communities north of Austin. Round Rock and Georgetown, have seen a huge increase in population as good school districts and convenience to employers draw more residents. Finally, to the east, cities like Manor, Elgin and Bastrop also contribute to the Austin metroplex.
