Laura Gottesman grew up in Dallas, Texas and moved to Austin in 1982 to attend the University of Texas. Falling in love with Austin, Laura made it her home and became an enthusiastic and dedicated citizen of the Austin community. In 1997, after all three children had entered school, Laura decided to follow her interests and talents to pursue a career in residential real estate. Immediately Laura earned the respect and loyalty of her friends and clients. Through a strong and unique referral base, she was identified as a leader in the field of high-end residential home sales. With a background in advertising and marketing and a keen business sense, Laura and her partner, Shannon Windham opened the doors of Gottesman Windham Real Estate in the year 2000. In 2002 Laura Gottesman acquired Shannon Windham's ownership in the company and in 2006 the company debuted an energized branding strategy that featured a company name change to Gottesman Residential Real Estate that succinctly reflects its local presence and industry leadership. The company, under Laura's leadership, has exceeded all expectations year after year.
Laura Gottesman is widely known throughout the Austin area for her energy, professionalism, and knowledge of Austin real estate market. She was named as a finalist in Austin's Business Journal Profiles in Powers and serves on the Board of Directors of The Real Estate Council of Austin, Seton Development Board, and the Community Advisory Board of Caritas. Laura is also a member of Young Entrepreneurs Organization. She and her husband, Morris, are deeply committed to the Children's Hospital of Austin and take great pride in philanthropic involvement throughout Central Texas.
